In a mountain village, there lived a young craftswoman who carved wooden combs so finely that travelers carried them across the provinces. As her workshop grew, her apprentices asked, "Should we make more combs, or should we make a banner so everyone knows our name?"

The village's oldest carpenter overheard them and placed a plain cedar box on the floor.

One apprentice asked the old carpenter, "Was it the crest that made the workshop famous?"

The carpenter smiled.
