Part I: The Stone in the Road

A traveler walked the same road every day, cursing the enormous stone that blocked the path.

"If only this obstacle were gone," he muttered. "My journey would be easy."

He spent years searching for better roads, faster roads, smoother roads. Yet every path eventually led to another stone.

One day, exhausted from running, he sat beside the obstacle he hated most. Looking closely, he noticed strange marks carved into its surface. They weren't cracks—they were instructions.

The stone wasn't blocking the way.

It was pointing beneath it.

With great effort, the traveler moved the rock just enough to uncover a spring of clear water that had been hidden for generations. Every weary traveler who came after him drank from it.

The obstacle had never been keeping him from his destination.

It had been keeping him near his purpose.

Part II: The Gift Beneath the Weight

Years later, people praised the traveler for discovering the spring.

"How did you know the treasure was there?" they asked.

He smiled.

"I didn't."

"I just stopped trying to escape the thing I hated long enough to understand it."

Then he pointed to the road.

"Most people pray for lighter burdens. But sometimes the burden is carrying the gift."

"The deepest compassion often grows from the deepest wounds. The strongest wisdom is usually earned through the hardest questions. And the greatest calling is often hidden inside the struggle you spend years trying to avoid."

He took one last drink from the spring and continued his journey.

The road ahead still held stones.

But now he knew to look beneath them before trying to walk around them.
