There was once a young traveler named Nalin who stood at the edge of a mountain valley where many roads began.

One road was wide and crowded. Its sign promised Quick Success.

Another was steep and narrow. Its sign simply read Learn.

Most travelers laughed at the second road.

"You can always learn later," they said. "Success is waiting on the easier path."

Nalin watched as crowds hurried toward the wide road. For a while, it seemed they had chosen wisely. They reached comfortable places quickly and celebrated their early victories.

Nalin chose the narrow path.

Each day he learned a new craft. Some lessons were exciting. Others were tedious. He stumbled often, asked questions, accepted feedback, and sometimes had to retrace his steps when he discovered a better way forward.

Years passed.

One day, a fierce storm swept through the valley. Bridges washed away. Familiar landmarks disappeared. The wide road that had once seemed so certain became difficult to follow.

Many travelers found themselves standing still.

Nalin, however, continued walking.

He had crossed rough terrain before. He knew how to read the landscape, build a simple bridge, and ask others for directions when needed. The skills he had gathered along the journey became tools for navigating change.

As he climbed higher, he met travelers from many different roads.

One had mastered leadership.

Another had become an expert craftsperson.

A third had learned to teach.

Rather than competing, they shared what each had learned, and together they discovered new paths none of them could have found alone.

Eventually, Nalin reached a high ridge overlooking the valley where his journey had begun.

A young traveler called up to him.

"Which road is the secret to success?"

Nalin smiled and pointed not to a road, but to the worn soles of his boots.

"There is no road that guarantees success," he said. "There is only the willingness to keep learning as the road changes."

The traveler looked confused.

"So success isn't reaching the mountain?"

Nalin shook his head.

"The mountain is only one destination. A career is a journey across many landscapes. Every skill you gain becomes a bridge. Every mistake becomes a map. Every person who teaches you becomes part of the path."

The young traveler looked again at the two roads.

The wide road was still busy.

The narrow road was still quiet.

This time, he noticed something he had missed before.

The narrow road did not end at the mountain.

It continued beyond it.

And so the lesson was remembered by generations of travelers:
